Sunny Health Rowing Machine Review
& How it Compares to Other Rowers:

This magnetic rowing machine has many advantages and disadvantages when compared to other rowers. The following video reviews the pros and cons:

By the way, you can check out Austin’s rowing ebooks here.

1. Lightweight, Compact & Convenient Rower Size:

First, the Sunny rowing machine is similar to the Stamina ATS Rower in that it’s lighter in weight, more compact and has a lower cost than the Concept2. However, these less expensive machines have a lower weight capacity (250 lbs).

That said, the Sunny Fitness Rower has a 48″ long rail, which means it can accommodate people with long legs.

2. Design Doesn’t Allow for Full Rowing Motion:

Second, the compact size food pad design don’t allow for a full range of motion when you row. In other words, when you slide forward on the rail, you can’t compact into a full squat with arms fully extended. (Watch the video for more information).

3. Quiet Rower but Not Best for High Intensity:

Third, magnetic rowers are virtually silent compared to other fitness machines. That said, this type of resistance isn’t ideal for HIIT workouts or sprint training.

Note: Therefore, if you want to do high intensity interval sessions (or you are stronger than the average person), you may prefer the Concept2 Rowing Machine or a water rower. These models perform better for more intense workouts.

4. Comfy Cushioned Seat:

Fourth, the rowing seat doesn’t have the advanced ergonomic shaping of more advanced machines. However, it does come with a comfortable padded seat (which some people like even better).

5. Limited Capacity Fitness Monitor:

Fifth, the digital monitor is easy to read and can track your time, stroke count and approximate calories. However, its simplistic design doesn’t track your progress like more advanced monitors
